Yes, it's another tribute episode. We keep saying we don't like those, but the tribute episodes get the best ratings, so we have nobody to blame but ourselves. Check out the preview for "Saturday Night Glee-Vere" on Youtube. My favorite part of this: the adults are excited about this music, but the kids all yell "Disco SUCKS!" So do tribute episodes, usually, but maybe we will get lucky this time. The press release for this episode says:
The New Directions pay homage to the movie “Saturday Night Fever” by grooving to disco-infused dance numbers in the all-new “Saturday Night Glee-ver” episode of GLEE airing Tuesday, April 17 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. (GLE-316) (TV-14 D, L)

Guest Cast: Chord Overstreet as Sam Evans; Lauren Potter as Becky Jackson; NeNe Leakes as Coach Roz Washington; Jonathan Groff as Jesse St. James.
Jesse St. James is back! He is the new coach of Vocal Adrenaline. Well, Jesse St. James will never be Jesse St. Sucks to me, so this is always a good thing. Oh, if only Jonathan Groff were going to be one of the people replacing the seniors next year. Can he replace Shue?

With eight songs to get through, you've got to wonder if there will be any time for plot, but here's the synopsis.
“When Will worries some of his students are lacking a clear direction for their futures, he tries to inspire them through the music of Saturday Night Fever. While some of the students use the lesson to get a clearer idea of what they want from their lives, it inspires others to take an extra step towards helping their loved ones achieve their dreams. Meanwhile, Sue's arch-nemesis Roz Washington, returns with an eye to wrest away control of the Cheerios.” Will tries to inspire them to prepare for the future by making them sing songs that were written decades before they were born. OK.
Reportedly, we will get yet another new character: Glee Project winner Alex Newell finally gets his moment in the sun as Wade, a member of Vocal Adrenaline. who reportedly confides in Kurt about something. Gee, the Glee Project sure had a lot of winners, didn't it? Watch a brief clip of Alex's debut as he meets Kurt and Mercedes. Alex has good taste.
We now have a description for the Whitney Houston episode.
The glee club pays homage to a true icon when they cover Whitney Houston’s greatest hits. Meanwhile, Emma and Will are one step closer to their dream wedding.
As the end of the Gleeks’ senior year grows near, Will and his students struggle to come to terms with the imminent disbanding of their Glee Club family. To help the kids deal with their feelings of impending loss, Will assigns New Directions the emotionally charged music of pop icon Whitney Houston. While some use the assignment to help ease the pain of saying goodbye, others use it to revitalize old relationships and cement new ones. Meanwhile, Kurt's questionable behavior threatens his relationship with Blaine. (That must explain why Kurt sings him a love song later.) Will scrambles to meet a self-imposed deadline, and a despondent Quinn’s spirits are lifted by a kindred soul.
We also have a new NYADA bombshell from Jane Lynch. We already knew that the NYADA audition episode was called "Choke" and now... we learn that only one of these two kids is going to get into NYADA. Only one. Intuitive logic would lead us to believe that person will be Rachel, with her years of formal training and long resume. Therefore, the successful one is almost certainly going to be Kurt. That's going to cause some fights. It won't be boring on the forums!
